May they all be one- John 17:21

Mt 16, 21-27

The journey of faith that Jesus begun with his disciples has reached a turning point. After Peter’s profession of faith Jesus predicts his passion and resurrection. All the gospels recounts three predictions of the Lord’s passion.  (Mt 16:21; Mt 17: 22-23; Mt 20:17-19).   Peter has just professed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

Mt 15, 21-28

The reading of the past few Sundays have been talking about faith. Some people took Jesus for granted.  Others doubted about him while others had little faith. As usual, these readings have something to tell something about ourselves. Biblical messages have much more meaning when we apply them to our concrete situations.

(Mt 14, 22-33)

There is a close link between today’s passage and the Gospel about the multiplication of the loaves (Mt 14, 13-21). Today I would like to propose a kind of a Lectio Divina which will require of you a bit of time. You will need to interact with gospel.  So, I propose that you spare a bit of time.  For this I will ask you to have your bible or your missal with you.
