May they all be one- John 17:21

                                                                   (Mt 10, 26 -33)

Today’s reflection is part of the missionary discourse in Matthew (Mt 9:36 – 11, 1). The Evangelist has put together all the instructions that Jesus gave to Twelve Apostles at various occasions. Jesus knows that the task he is going to entrust to his disciples is enormous and overwhelming.

                                                Reflection on Jn 6:51-58

Last Sunday we celebrated the feast of Pentecost.  The main theme was “Who can understand the mind of God”.  We looked at the loving relationship that exists between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as revealed to us by Jesus.  Today’s reflection is about the feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ), in reference to the sacrament of Eucharist.  Jesus offers his body as food for eternal life and his blood as drink for life eternal.

(Mt 28:16-20)

Today the Church celebrates the Ascension of the Lord.  It is the last meeting of Jesus with his disciples. During the last past two weeks, we have been meditating on the farewell discourse of Jesus.  We saw how the news of Jesus’ departure or return to the Father saddened the hearts of the apostles and disciples.
